World Missions Sunday
In this short World Missions Sunday homily, Pastor Matt teaches that missions are the calling of every Christian—children and adults alike—to follow Jesus’ example by meeting people where they are and recognizing both their physical and spiritual needs. From Matthew 9:35–38, Matt highlights three responses: asking God to open our eyes to see the lost, our hearts to feel Christlike compassion, and our lives to act as laborers in the harvest through prayer and service. The sermon asks the listener to start their journey towards mission work with prayer, committing to intercede daily for at least one person who needs to know Jesus and trusting the Holy Spirit to work through those prayers.
