WORSHIP LEADER (10-14 hours/week)
Trinity Church is an Anglican (ACNA) church plant in Burke, VA, in the suburbs of Washington DC. We are prayerfully seeking a part time worship leader to join our team as we prepare to launch public worship.
SUMMARY
We are looking for a worship leader who is a committed and growing disciple of Jesus, gifted to lead His people in congregational worship. The worship leader will work closely with our pastor in cultivating worship services and worship teams that help Trinity Burke faithfully and joyfully worship God. Fostering dynamic congregational worship (singing the best of the old and the best of the new) is a key priority for our church and we are seeking an individual who is called and gifted by God in the following areas:
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan the music in our weekly Sunday 10:00am worship service. Choose congregational songs and hymns that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word.
2. Model and lead heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.
3. Recruit, teach, and train musicians of all ages in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility.
4. Lead weekly rehearsals that: (A) prepare for Sunday, (B) cultivate of Christ-centered community, and (C) nurture and develop musical gifts in the congregation.
5. Serve as a member of the ministry team at Trinity Burke, demonstrating a commitment to this congregation and its mission.
6. Oversee the AV/Production team and volunteers.
This individual is expected to: (A) be gifted in leading congregational worship (B) possess leadership and organizational skills, and (C) be a team player.
WEEKLY EXPECTATIONS (usually 10-14 hours)
1. Weekly worship service (4 hours)
2. Weekly rehearsal (1-2 hours)
3. Administrative duties: emails, slides, charts, scheduling (4 hours)
4. Weekly meeting with pastor (1 hour)
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
1. Participate in the life and ministry of Trinity Church.
2. Lead worship for holy days (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter).
3. Make sure worship ministry is covered on off Sundays.
SALARY + BENEFITS
$20,000-24,000/year plus 10% retirement, 6 Sundays off/year
